5 days maranagu route Is a “Coca-Cola” route, is a easier trek on Mount Kilimanjaro. It is the oldest, most well established route. Many favor the Marangu route because it is considered to be the easiest path by walking on the mountain, given its gradual slope. It is also the only route which offers sleeping huts in dormitory style accommodations
From the Marangu route gate you hike to Mandara huts to Horombo huts, accomplished to Kibo huts, to where you will be prepare ready for summit ,the summit will involve Gilman’s point and finally Uhuru Peak which is the highest point in Africa at 5,895 meters. Were by all Hikers from different route meet there (UHURU PEAK).
However the speed at which hikers gain altitude on this marangu route, there is an increased risk of altitude sickness. The route is a perfect choice of not how’s like to Camp
Day 0: ARRIVAL
Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport https://www.kilimanjaroairport.go.tz/ Other Pickup Destination, where you will meet a Majali guide, and be transferred to the hotel. In the evening there will be a briefing with our managers, who will also make sure you are prepared to trek Kilimanjaro on the Marangu Route for 6 days by checking your gear and giving you a brief breakdown of the trip.

Day 1: MARANGU GATE TO MANDARA HUT
A guide and support crew will arrive at the hotel in the morning in order to meet you and hold another briefing. Then you will travel to the entrance of Kilimanjaro National Park, known as Marangu Gate (1,860 m). After another few hours of formalities with the park rangers at the gate and you will be on the trail. The group will stop for a light snack then start the hike towards the Mandara Hut (2,700 m). The trail takes us through the rainforest, so we suggest bringing a raincoat and extra clothes. By the time you reach the camp, our professional mountain crew will have prepared everything necessary, you will sleep inside of the huts, which are quad shared, and the bathrooms will have running water.

Day 2: TREKKING FROM MANDARA HUT TO HOROMBO HUT
Departing from Mandara Hut ( 2,700 m ), we continue through the forest until the trail opens up into the mooreland. Once we reach Horombo Hut ( 3,720 m ) you will be able to see Kibo and Mawenzi for the first time. At Horombo hut bathrooms are available with running water. After lunch we will have an acclimatization hike towards Kibo hut and back down to camp where we will enjoy dinner and rest.

Acclimatization Hike:

Day 3: HOROMBO HUT TO KIBO HUT
Early wake up, then we begin a gradual climb across the lunar desert also known as the ”saddle.” We will camp at the Kibo HutS.. After we arrive at camp you will need to sleep and rest as much as possible because at night we will begin the climb to the summit.

Day 4: ASCENT TO UHURU PEAK & DESCENT TO HOROMBO HUT
Very Early wakeup ( midnight), We depart from camp and begin the climb to the summit. Each pair of climbers will get a personal guide for the entire ascent to monitor your physical and mental conditions. Once we reach Gilman’s Point ( 5,861 m ) we will only have 2 hours left until we reach the summit. After your successful ascent to Uhuru Peak (5,895 m ) – the top of Mount Kilimanjaro and the last point of the climb on the Marangu Route, you will have reached the highest point in all of Africa — CONGRATULATIONS!
From the Summit, we will begin our descent to Kibo Hut and enjoy a warm lunch. After lunch, we will hike down to the Horombo Camp ( 3,730 m ) and later in the evening we will enjoy our last dinner on the mountain and a well earned sleep.

Hiking distance: 6 km ascent / 16 km descent
Hiking time: 6 -8 hours ascent / 4-6 hours descent
Day 5: HOROMBO HUT TO MARANGU GATE
After a warm breakfast, you will head for the park’s exit: Marangu Gate (1,860 m). After your descent the whole group will gather at the hotel where we will present you with your commemorative certificates.

Hiking time: 5-6 hours
Hotel Checkout & Departure Flight
Hotel checkout is at 11am. From there a Majali guide will transfer you to the airport for your flight.

● Kilimanjaro National Park permits, crew fees, camping/hut fees, rescue fees and Value Added Tax (VAT) and all other fees collected by the Tanzania National Parks Authority.

● All meals on the hike. Prepared by our professional cooks. (vegetarian/gluten-free/halal options are available at no extra cost )

Please note:
All accommodation is on sharing basis (i.e. you will be sharing with your travel companion a twin/double room in the hotel and a tent during the hike. If you travel alone, we will match you with a same-sex adventurer), however a if you prefer a single hotel room or single tent that can be provided at an extra cost. We also offer other amenities for an extra cost such as a heater for your personal tents.
