This 10 Day Rwanda and Tanzania safari begins in Kigali Rwanda and ends in Tanzania. you will visit the renowned Volcanoes National Park for gorilla trekking before crossing borders to Tanzania for a wildlife safari where you will visit Tarangire national Park, Ngorongoro Crater, Serengeti NP, and the Lake Manyara NP to see Africa’s rich diversity of wildlife. This 10 days safari is the perfect blend of Rwanda’s gorilla and wildlife safari in Tanzania.

Day 1 Arrival in Kigali, Rwanda
When you arrive at the Kigali International Airport, you will be welcomed by our representative from Taste for Afrika who will be your driver-guide on this safari. You will be transferred to your hotel in Rwanda’s capital Kigali where you can spend the night. Your 10 Days Rwanda & Tanzania Safari journey will last about 20 minutes.

Day 2 Transfer to Volcanoes Park
You will start your day with breakfast and then travel to Volcanoes National Park. Your journey will last about two and a half hours and you will have the chance to explore the fascinating meandering roads that lead to Ruhengeri area which is the second biggest city in Rwanda featuring a captivating background of the five volcanic mountains called the Virungas. You will either make a stopover for lunch or you can have it while you are at the park. While travelling There will be an optional visit to the genocide memorial en-route to the park. Your trip will take about two and a half hours while driving.

Day 3 Gorilla Trek, transfer to Kigali
You will start your day with an early breakfast and then transfer to the headquarters of the park for orientation prior to beginning your gorilla trek in the Bamboo Forests. Your search for the gorillas may last anything from two to six hours. When you finally see them, you will spend one hour with them and then head back to your hotel for your lunch. Afterward, drive back to Kigali for your overnight. This trip will last about two and a half hours.

Day 4 Flight from Kigali to Kilimanjaro airport, transfer to Tarangire NP
The driver will transfer you to KGL airport to catch your flight to JRO and when you reach there, you will be welcomed by another Driver-guide from Taste for Afrika who will lead you on this section on the safari. Transfer to Tarangire National Park to enjoy an evening game drive in case you have enough time. This drive will last about three and a half hours.

Day 5 Game drive, transfer to Ngorongoro Crater
On this day you will take an early game drive adventure in Tarangire and later you will proceed to the crater rim where you will get to spend the night. The journey is about two and a half hours while driving.

Day 6 Explore Ngorongoro, transfer to Serengeti NP
Following an early breakfast, Slope into Ngorongoro Crater to enjoy game drives touring the low-grass savannah on the crater floor. This inactive volcano occupies about 100 square miles and is a home to buffaloes, lions, rhinos, leopards, elephants as well as other wildlife. Later on transfer to Serengeti NP where you will spend the night; your drive will last about 3 hours.

Day 7 Explore Serengeti National Park
You will start the day with an early breakfast before proceeding to Seronera area to enjoy two days of game drives in Serengeti National Park as you explore the vast plains while looking for the tranquil herbivores plus the huge predators that stalk them.

Day 8 Another Game viewing day in Serengeti
You will continue with game drives throughout Serengeti hoping to catch a glimpse of the variety of wildlife that live in the park which you could have missed out the previous day.

Day 9 Game Drive, transfer to Lake Manyara NP
You will start the day with breakfast in the morning and then take a game drive in Serengeti after which you will travel to Lake Manyara where you will spend the night. On the way, you can choose to stop by Olduvai Gorge or visit a Maasai Village for a cultural tour. The trip will last about four and a half hours,

Day 10 Lake Manyara (Game drive or Cultural tour), Departure
You will start the day with a game drive in the morning in Lake Manyara National Park. This park inhabits a diversity of birdlife as well as a variety of wildlife including hippos, giraffes, elephants, antelopes, zebras among others.
Alternatively, you can instead start your day with breakfast and then head to the MtowaMbu village which is situated only 7 kilometers from Lake Manyara National Park’s gates. While there you will enjoy a cultural tour of about two hours that will comprise of a guided walking tour with the traditional healer who will provide you with information about the medicinal importance of different native plants, and also visit the banana or rice plantations.
You will then head back to Moshi and continue to JRO airport for your flight back home after making a stopover at Airport Planet Lodge for a quick freshen-up bath. Your drive will last about two and a half hours to Arusha in addition to fifty minutes to JRO.
