This itinerary blends the scenic challenge of Mount Meru trekking with a compact northern Tanzania safari. It is ideal for travelers who want both mountain adventure and classic wildlife viewing in one trip.
You will be picked up at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transferred to your hotel in Moshi for briefing and equipment check.
Drive to Momella Gate and start the trek. Enjoy views of Kilimanjaro, Momella Lakes, and wildlife such as buffaloes, giraffes, warthogs, and bushbucks before overnight at Miriakamba Hut.
Trek along the steep ridge with views of the Meru crater, ash cone, and Little Meru. Optional acclimatization walk after arrival.
Begin the summit push after midnight, then descend back to Miriakamba Hut after reaching Socialist Peak.
Descend through montane forest via the southern route and pass the Fig Tree Arch before transfer back to Moshi.
Free day to rest, explore Moshi, or continue into the safari portion depending on final routing.
